Dear Dr. Sound,
I am looking at your ER-1000 WR Personal PA System Megaphone. It has an output of 6 W (rated) and 10 W (max) when 6 AA batteries (9 V DC) are used. 3 W (rated) and 4 W (max) when 4 AA batteries(*2) (6 V DC) are used.
Does that give enough sound to be heard clearly from the front of a Dragon Boat to the back, a distance of 47 feet?
Is the unit water proof/resistant sufficiently to use on a Dragon Boat which is used in a salt water setting?

Thank you for contacting TOA.
The ER-1000 has a audible range of approximately 80m when 6 batteries are used and 40m when 4 batteries are used.
As for being water proof/resistant, unfortunately it is not and proper precautions should be taken to not expose the unit to those elements.
