TOA Canada - Input Sensitivity on the 9000M2 Series
Input Sensitivity on the 9000M2 Series

We get many questions regarding how to adjust input levels on our 9000M2 series of mixer amplifiers. As you know, connection devices such as MP3 players, CD players, and Microphones all have different sensitivity levels. So setting these correctly is imperative to having a properly balanced audio system.

When you add in a D-001T module to the 9000M2 Series it is set to -10dB by default. This level is great for input devices like a CD player or MP3 player but NOT a Microphone. In order to get that level for a Microphone you would need to adjust your sensitivity setting from anywhere between -24dB to -60dB (depending on manufacture).

We often get calls about this as to "Why is my Mic not working" OR "Why is my Mic level so low". This is because the sensitivity setting has not been adjusted to match the level that the Microphone is looking for.

To do this in the software you would go to the section shown below.

9000 Input Sensitivity

If you need to do this from the front panel then you would do the following steps:

1)      Press the button for the input that you need to adjust

2)      Press the down arrow until you see Sensitivity

3)      Rotate the Parameter knob to the appropriate level

4)      Press Enter and test the Mic

As a tip, always refer to the manufactures recommend level by looking at their provided spec sheet or manual.
